I Celebrated Mother’s Day by Going on a Date with My Husband

I celebrated mothers day by going on a date with my husband

We went out for sushi, just the two of us, for lunch while Elizabeth was in daycare. Nothing fancy, no big deal, but it was.

The hardest part of being a good mother for me, personally is being a good wife. It wasn’t until recently, I realized in order to be a good mother, I had to be a good wife, first and foremost. Whatever relationship Patrick and I model, will be the relationship our daughter, Elizabeth has with her peers, her friends and someday her future partner.

We are far from perfect, but we are learning. As one of my favorite parenting quotes says, “The best predictor of a child’s well being is a parents self-understanding.”

May we continue to get to know ourselves and what fills our souls.
